Colorado Avalanche announced today that centre Pierre Turgeon will miss approximately three to four weeks with a strained shoulder. Turgeon suffered the injury during the first period of Saturday's game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Turgeon underwent further examination today and it was determined that surgery would not be required at this time.
''Pierre needs to rebuild the strength in his shoulder through therapy and treatment,'' said Avalanche Head Trainer Matt Sokolowski. ''He should be fully recovered in approximately three to four weeks.''
